1A01 OU Kosher Certification The Orthodox Union certifies as being “Kosher” (i.e. prepared in accordance with Jewish dietary law) food products, ingredients and additives. Companies certified by the Orthodox Union are granted the usage of the world’s best-known and accepted kosher symbol for these foodstuffs. Kosher category is growing at 15% a year in sales growth. OU “Kosher” certification has provided the opportunity for increased sales and expansion of markets for over 275,000 finished products. Nearly 50% of consumer food items in the U.S. are OU certified.
